Vinyl Renu Premium Siding Restorer - 5-Gallon Pail kit

Used the cleaner and Vinyl Renu products on my 21 year old vinyl siding a few months ago. The siding was oxidized, the dark blue trim and scallop siding were faded. The clapboard siding would get dirty fast even after washing with mild soap using a brush. Because it was oxidized, it held dirt and would get dirt in no time. When hosing it down, if you rubbed the wet siding with your hand, the clean water would get dirty, it held the dirt. The Vinyl Renu not only brought back the siding colors, it remains clean; it does not hold the dirt, and doesn’t seem to attract it like it used to. Sort of like putting “Rain-X” on a windshield, it fills in the porous, oxidized siding leaving a smooth surface. I used it on my house and 4 car, 2-story garage. The 3 overhead doors also look great and don’t hold dirt like before. We used a sprayer that I bought for this project to apply 2 coats, it goes on easy. I am a siding contractor in the Chicago area and I couldn’t be happier with this product.

Our Vinyl siding is around 25 years old and I was looking for something that might restore it. Frankly I was a little skeptical Vinyl Renu would make a difference. I am happy to say I was wrong. I usually don't write reviews but thought this might help someone. o like any job, the prep-work is the hardest and most important part. The cleaning solution provided is excellent - I applied with a pump sprayer after diluting with water. I used a scrub brush and then hosed off the siding. Everything looks better once cleaned but the Renu product brings back the luster as well as the color. As the picture above attests - on the left is after cleaning - on the right is cleaning and applying the Renu. You can see the difference. I used an inexpensive electric sprayer - application of Renu was fairly easy - did two coats. Have actually purchased a second gallon of Renu because the 1st gallon was not enough to do more than the front of our house. I have to also do the side that faces the street -because you can easily tell the difference from a distance as well as up close. Really good product. Hope this helps, -Dave

Followed directions with the cleaner and the restorer . I put the cleaner on with a bucket and long handled soft brush with a 5 to 1 ratio of water to product, let set one minutes then rinsed with a water hose. Dried over night. Next morning used restored with a good 4 and 5 inch brush. Everything was easy and went on smoothly. Immediately saw the difference and now after 5 days it looks just like the siding that did not have sun damage. I only did one coat. The brushes cleaned up easily and are very pliable. I thought the product went a long way and I still of plenty of the restorer left after doing one side of our house.

The good and the bad: first, the bad. The shipping is ridiculous. You might need gloves to open the packaging because the two little containers are chucked in a box and they leak all over themselves and the inside of the box. This also means that you will get a little less product than you are expecting. That's frustrating, since they are already small samples. The good news is the Renu is quite some product! My siding is extremely sun-bleached, washed out and stained with splotches of some unknown origin. Did this product eliminate every imperfection? Of course not. But given how bad my siding is, the before and after are like night and day. The product gives the siding a sheen which makes it look richer and smoother and somewhat hides blotches of discoloration. It isn't going to correct every blemish like repainting, of course, but it makes a drastic improvement and is much simpler to work with than paint would be.

Waste of money and time. I purchased this product, July, 2022, and applied per instructions. At first it looked good. The second summer, it began spot fading, especially the south side of my house. This summer, 2025, the south side is 90% faded badly in large patches. The other sides are developing black mold spots even worse than before product was applied. I used the "cleaner" as instructed prior to applying the Vinyl RENU. (I even called the help line to ensure I was following instructions correctly.) It took me two full weekends to complete the project. What a waste if time and money. My siding looks even worse than before when I would just clean it every 3 years. Absolutely would not recommend this product. Only three summers and it looks terrible. I'm not sure how I can make the siding even look as good as it did prior to applying the VINYL RENU. Terrible product. Edit: 3/25/26... have noticed black mildew/mold spots even wirse and on top of that, checked and it seems that the Renu product just turned into a wax coating. Very upset with this product. Was applied summer of 2022. Not sure how I will correct the siding without totally having new siding installed. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

My shutters were very faded as well as a person who power washed the house a number of years ago, left strike marks on shutters. I hoped this product would work to save me replacement costs. We received the shipment of Renu within one day of ordering and started work over the July 4th weekend. I live in SW VA and the shutters are exposed to varied temps and conditions. I had 18 tall shutters to redo, the gallon size was more than plenty of product, however we ran out of the cleaning solution on the second pass for some shutters. My husband and I started with the cleaning process and used allot of elbow grease. I can't imagine trying to do this while shutters are still hung on a house and on a ladder, it is much easier to work using a table. I mixed a portion of the cleaning solution at at 1:4 ratio, probably should have gone stronger. Some shutters we ended up cleaning several times to pass the 'scratch test'. At first, we were dismayed that the shutters did not seem to be getting clean. Once we had one that passed what we thought was a good scratch test, we decided to go ahead and put a coat of finish on to see if our efforts would pay off. First coat looked pretty good, so we proceeded. We decided to paint on the finish rather than spray as we had 18 shutters to do and we did not want to run out of finish. As we applied the product, by the time we had the whole shutter covered, the product was just dry enough to smooth out bubbles and drips, this step, I think really lead to a clean smooth finish. Product does clean up with water. I will let the photos speak for themselves. The first pic is the shutter we cleaned and scrubbed twice, you can still see the strike marks left from the power sprayer, so we were very skeptical this product would work. The second picture is same shutter with two coats applied and the third and forth pics are after three coats applied. We waited a full 24 hours to dry before applying second and third coats, it was very humid in our area over the weekend. We also let shutters dry indoors as we did not want any bugs getting stuck on wet coats, nor any passing rain showers causing marks. Some shutters are exposed to sun all day and needed up to 3 scrubbing to pass the scratch test. We used both a scrub brush and nylon covered sponge to clean. The overall result was shutters that now look brand new at a third of replacement costs. I hope the product lasts as long as advertised. I am very pleased with the outcome.

This sample package is great for evaluating if this product will meet your needs. I wanted to try Vinyl Renew on my faded fencing, so this was a perfect solution. The results were incredible, so I ended up ordering two gallons of the product.

I wish I had thought to take before and after pictures because the difference is striking. We have dark blue siding that has faded over the past 20 years and thought we would give this product a try rather than pay $20K+ to reside our house. I kid you not, our siding looks brand new. We followed the directions to the letter and we couldn't be happier. Even our neighbors have commented on how nice the house looks.

Works well. For textured shutters you need to push the product into the shutter when applying.

Came on time. I haven't used it in the siding yet but have used it on garden furniture and air conditioner housing and they look like new. Living in the tropics mould is an issue so a lot of harsh cleaning and strong sun so this is going to preserve things like new. I will order more.

I got this item for a friend, have not heard from him, will write a review later.

I guess we waited too long because this stuff wasn’t any better than The Old Vinegar and Water at cleaning and as far as restoring color went it did not do anything !
