Reef Grom Smoothy (Toddler/Little Kid/Big

I bought a pair of these for each of my kids. They are well made and Reef is a great company that backs their products. (I have had to have Reef replace a pair of flip flops I purchased and they did so without any issues.) I purchased these for boys and girls.The toddler sizes run big. My youngest sized to a 7, so I purchased the 7/8 and they were way too big. If your toddler sizes to the smaller of the two sizes, order down.The kid sizes run small. My 5 year old sized to a 12, but actually fits a 13/1. So, on kid sizes, order up if they fall into the larger size and order on size if they fall into the smaller size. (So, if they measure a 1, go with a 2/3 but if they measure a 13, go with the 13/1.)They have back elastic straps through the 9/10 toddler size. Above that, they do not have back straps.The bottom is dense and durable. No worries about kids biting through them (I had shockingly had this happen multiple times with other flip flops) or them tearing up quickly. If you do have a problem, contact Reef and they will help you out. They want you to be happy with their shoes. These do have flat bottoms. Some of the other Reef flip flops have a kind of lip around the bottom of the shoe to kind of cup the foot- these do not.

I ordered these for my 3 year old (he's a size 9.5 in Striderite brand shoes). I wanted something easy for wear while he played in the sand, dirt, and baby pool outside. Like a lot of kids, he loves to get covered in muck. These shoes, while a little large in the 9/10, have surprisingly stayed on. Mine came with a back strap, which is the feature I was looking for - probably the reason they stay on his feet - I believe that feature doesn't come with the sandal once he grows into the Little Kid sizes from what I've seen on the Reef sandals info page. Easy to wash, and they dry quickly. I'm giving 4 stars (minus 1 star) since they do run very large and it makes them look a little silly.

I tell ya, these shoes would be AMAZING if they stayed together. Every time I turn around one has run off somewhere to hide. One actually jumped out of the car window and NEVER came back! It's a shame because they were very cute on both of my 2 and 4 year old's feet. However, the 2 year old either has stinky feet or mean feet because his ALWAYS run away! It's either that or these flip flops just don't get along. I don't get it. EVERY TIME I purchase flip flops, one leaves with no notice. I spend 10 minutes breaking a sweat while looking under beds, the couch, in the bathroom, in the hamper, etc...NEVER to be found. A breakup note would be nice for ONCE!

I found these for a great price here on Amazon. I figured I'd buy them for my preschool aged son for this upcoming summer. Right now he is wearing a toddler 10-11 so I ordered the 11-12 thinking that would fit by summer. I had him try them on and they just fit now. It's not worth the hassle of sending them back so hopefully he can get some use out of them once it gets warm. I love reefs and have a few pair myself but for some reason these seem to run a little small.

My son loves these Reefs! He's worn Reef flip flops since he was two but hadn't had these particular ones. He runs and plays in them and never complains of uncomfortability...(& he's pretty picky about shoes). I bought the 11/12 but they were too big so I got the 9/10's (he wears 10.5 tennis shoes). Since I know he'll use them eventually I just kept the bigger ones too. At $15 it's not worth the hassle of sending them back. The 11/12 does not have a strap but the 9/10 does...he doesn't seem to care either way and has worn both types before. Great flip flop, soft, comfy straps and sole!

Bought these for my son. I thought they would be a little big since he wears a size 2. I bought the 2/3. They fit perfectly. I would give these 5 stars, but I think they run slightly small. I would suggest going up a size. Also, it asks about arch support. There is a little arch support but not a good amount. However, these are flip flops. I don't think you buy these kinds of shoes for their support. Other than that, these flip flops are very comfortable and well made. My son wears them all day long.

Ordered a size 13/1 for my 6 year old and they *just barely* fit him, although his size 13 boat shoes and sneakers have a bit of wiggle room in the toes (he's more of a *big* size 12 in shoes), so I am very displeased with the size. They are gorgeous though, and look very sturdy, so they got that going for them. Kiddo has a habit of breaking/ripping the toe part out of flip flops, and I doubt this could happen to these... unless he really tried.As he has already worn them outside, I doubt I can return them. I may purchase another pair in a bigger size and re-review.

I was going to get the Sanuk yoga mat sandals because I knew they were nice, but I didn't like the boys designs. So I thought Reef would be a good brand for a sandal that would last a while. But the grip on the bottom is very slippery. I thought it would get better with time, but in the couple of months we have had them it seems to get worse. Every time my 3 year old son wears them he slips around and frequently falls. I like the simple style and the fact that they are plain black so they match everything. I am even happy the sizing was a little generous because I think they will fit longer... but this is such a big deal I can't really give it any more stars. Going to have to try to scratch them up on the bottom or perhaps use hot glue to add some strips on the bottom to prevent the slipping.
