The Quilt Block Bible: 200+ Traditionally Inspired Quilt Blocks from Rosemary Youngs

This book had: Study covers, not paper. The pics are in color and good size. It gives specific directions to make many blocks and are easy to fellow.

I am very pleased with this book. Not only did it arrive in a timely fashion but it was everything that I hoped it would be and more! The variety of designs allow me to create new designs and that’s beautiful! I believe it was worth every penny! It’s very well written and the pictures are extremely helpful!

This is a tremendous book with beautiful and inspring quilt blocks. I love the designs and there is something in it for everyone. There is also a CD. The only criticism I have is that as long as they were producing a CD, they could have made variations of sizes for the quilt blocks. These are all 6 inch, an it would have been nice to be able to size up to 8, 10 or 12 inch blocks.

The positives: This book offers a new angles on traditional blocks. The color choices for the blocks in the book are beautiful and inspiring. It's a terrific book for referring to for designs. The negatives: If you are looking for a pattern book that offers measurements you are out of luck. The book comes with a cd for your computer so you can download the pdf outlines for the 6" blocks, but nothing more. I like the book for the positives it offers, but it is a little frustrating to recognize that with just a little more forethought this could have been an even BETTER book. They could have printed the book so the pictures of the blocks were already 6" so people wouldn't have had to fuss with a cd and printing out the blocks. (Printer cartridge ink: the most expensive liquid on the planet.) Tips:1) many of the design elements are similar and/or are the same measurements so that it's really only necessary to print out about 20 different blocks to get the measurements for the rest. 2)Make SURE when printing out the block outlines from the PDFs that you are printing them out at 100% size.

I love being able to see all the different blocks in one place. Then having online access to instructions as needed.

I should have read the reviews before purchasing this book. The current printing does NOT include a CD of patterns and the website address provided in the book for a downloadable PDF comes back with a 404 page not found error. I’ll be returning the book.

Great collection of classic quilt squares in an easy to research fashion. Great photos!
