Captures the essence of the soundtrack, and makes it worthwhile watching the film again. Tracks are long enough to be interesting to listen to. Two versions of Country Road - the solo with violin by Shizuku, and the studio sound of the end credits. All liner notes in Japanese. Depending on which of my systems I played it on, the track titles appeared in English or in Japanese. Interestingly, Babelfish tells me the song tracks titles translates as "Country Load".

This score has a magical quality to it, which works perfectly with the movie and is also highly enjoyable on its own. I like the Japanese version of Country Roads.

I'll get straight to the point. This is an import, and imports are expensive. Whether it is worth the price is up to you. This is probably a Miyazaki movie soundtrack that you could live without if you find the price a bit frightening.This soundtrack is by Yuji Nomi whose style is quite different from Joe Hisaishi's, and for that matter, most other soundtracks. It has a fairy tale quality to it that some might find a little strange, but I think it worked well with the movie, and as a soundtrack, it makes for a happy background.This soundtrack does not include the rather interesting English rendition of Country Road, but it has got the Japanese version. As you can see, I liked it! But I'm sort of an if-it-has-Ghibli-near-the-title-I-must-have-it person.

This is simply a masterpiece. Nomi is a protege of Sakamoto and here his orchestration shines. Track 1. bears all the stunning hallmarks of a masterwork. If you dont listen to the whole score (and please ignore the whole Country Roads rendition which is awful), at least open your heart to this gem. In relation to the story,the orchestration is a marvel and delight and traces the progress of a young girl waking to the morning sun--enthused and amazed--and proceeds to stroll down to street level--further enlivened by the morning sun to which she looks up to--and promptly, melodically gasps. Beautiful!

As with his soundtrack for this films spin off 'The Cat Returns' Yuji Nomi's work here has a wonderful whimsy all its own. Unlike The Cat Returns though, this soundtrack doesn't have a recurring theme for the score to be based around, instead it feels like Nomi- San has chosen to tailor each track carefully to their specific scenes. The result is a soundtrack full of surprises where your never sure of the next track is going to be a chase piece involving Guitars and synthesisers or an orchestral accompaniment to 'Country Road' mixed in to what is majority a sweeping symphnic score without any of it ever seeming jarring or in conflict with the rest of the soundtrack.

„Stimme des Herzens“, oder auch „Mimi o Sumase ba“, ist ein goldiger sowie romantischer kleiner Coming of Age-Film aus dem Hause Ghibli. Einen Teil seines charmanten Flairs verdankt der Streifen ohne Zweifel der schönen Filmmusik, welche von Yuji Nomi komponiert wurde.Der Score bietet eine gute Mischung aus orchestralen Klängen und Synthesizer-Sound und ist mit seinen heiteren Melodien durch die Bank weg positiv gestimmt.Das Titellied des Films ist kein geringeres als „Take Me Home, Country Roads“ welches hier als eine Art Hauptthema funktioniert. Im lieblichsten „Japanisch/Engrish“ wurde diese Nummer von Shizuku’s Seiyū Yoko Honna eingesungen. Auf dem OST-Album sind glücklicherweise beide Versionen welche sie im Film vorträgt zu hören: Zum einen die Jam-Session-Szene (Gänsehaut) und der End-Credit-Song. Diese Neuinterpretationen des Liedes funktionieren wunderbar und waren für mich hauptausschlaggebend mir das Album zu besorgen.Ein Theme des Filmes hat mich zudem unweigerlich an eine Nummer aus Final Fantasy I erinnert, dem Castle Cornelia Theme. Wenn man dieses mit den Tracks „Canon“ und „I’ll Write a Story!“ vergleicht fallen einem doch starke Parallelen auf. Diese Melodie hört man auch am Häufigsten, womit man es indirekt als Haupt-Thema des Scores benennen könnte.Mit Stücken wie „Flying Clouds Atop the Shining Hills“, „Fly! We Will Rise on the Updraft“ (welches zu Shizuku’s Traumwelt-Sequenz mit dem legendären Baron gespielt wird), sowie „Song of the Baron“ kommt ein Hauch von Magie mit ins Spiel. Einfach wunderbar zum Abschalten und Träumen. Das charmant-kecke „A Confession“ passt perfekt zum Love-Plot zwischen Shizuku und Seiji, ganz zu schweigen von dem bittersüßen „Reminiscence“ (als Seiji’s Großvater Shizuku die Vorgeschichte zum Baron erzählt).An Musik wird man alles Wichtige und nennenswerte aus dem Film finden- mit Ausnahme der Originaleinspielung von Country Roads welche zur Einleitung im Film gespielt wird. Den Song kann man sich ja aber auch separat noch besorgen.Das Album was ich bezogen habe kommt vom Original Label Studio Ghibli Records, sprich das Booklet ist anders wie bei den westlichen Ausgaben komplett in Kanji gehalten- Titelbezeichnungen, sowie Liner Notes inklusive. Da ich schon unzählige Japan-Imports im Regal stehen habe war das für mich keine große Überraschung mehr (auch das obligatorische OBI liegt mit bei).Fazit:Der vergnügliche Score von Yuji Nomi passt zum Film wie die Faust auf’s Auge. Wer einen Hang zu eher ruhigeren, heiteren und romantischen Film-Scores hat sollte diesem Album eine Chance geben. Mit gerade einmal 46 Minuten Spielzeit ist dies zwar ein OST-Album der eher kürzeren Sorte, andererseits deckt es mit seinen 22 Tracks nahezu alles aus dem Film ab. In meinen Augen ist dies, wie der Film selbst, eine kleine aber feine Perle.Ghibli is life, so auch die Scores zu den Filmen. Volle Empfehlung.

Whisper of the Heart - Stimme des Herzens gehört zu meinen absoluten Lieblings-Ghibli Filmen! Der Soudntrack ist wunderschön, typisch für Joe Hisaishi!

映画音楽的で､アコースティックで､東洋的で､クラシック（アルビノーニのアダージョ）を聴いているような悲しげな所もあれば､電子音楽の所もある。全般的に落ち着いて環境音楽にも聴こえる。クラシカルだ。そこに｢カントリー･ロード(ヴァイオリン版)｣の歌が入り絶妙だ。前半のタンバリンと後半のリコーダーはまるでリンゴ(※)とビートルズ（｢フール･オン･ザ･ヒル｣）を思い起こす。バッハのパイプオルガン調のもある。誰か？と興味を持ったら坂本龍一の目に留まったとある。なるほど。ひときわ違うか？と思ったら｢バロンの歌｣であった。ただ､最後の｢カントリーロード｣は歌はよいが､シンセサイザーの音を使っているのはがっかりだ。生ギター､ドラムの音でテンポよく､カントリー風にしてほしかった。オーケストラアレンジは悪くないが。映画の最後のバージョンと違う気がする（ドラムはないと思うが）。※ジョージの｢バングラディシュ｣（レビュー）に感化されたとも思う。

この作品が大好きで、Blu-rayを買いました。さらにテレビで放送されたものもダビングしてとってあります(笑)好きなところ、いいところはたくさんあるのですが、映像だけでなく音楽の担う役割もかなり大きいと思います。夏の日差しを浴びて歩くシーン、夜空の下を二人で語りながら歩くシーン、地球屋のシーンなど良い曲ばかり。サントラを聴くと映像が思い浮かびます。カントリーロードも劇中に歌うものとエンディングの両方入っていて最高です。（オープニングは入ってません）落ち着いた曲がほとんどなので癒されたい時や寝る前に聴くとほっとします。あと、天沢君が格好良くヴァイオリンで腕慣らしする曲（数秒）まで入っていてときめきます(笑)
