I bought four of these. They arrived today. The can itself is well made. The spout will seal properly - NO SPILLING - if the rubber gasket seats properly during the spout installation. The red safety locking lever on the spout requires some pressure to be pressed down AT FIRST - but will loosen up after a few presses. Some other buyers suggested its removal, and if you do that, the spring inside the spout can still seal properly without this locking device (At first, I took one star off for lacking some simple instructions, but decided to add it back for its MADE IN The US of A :)

The price was fair, the item is of the highest quality and it was delivered in under a week. The seller wrote to make sure the item had safely arrived. I am very much satisfied with this purchase. Highly recommended !!!

Never had much luck with the new nozzles on the new cans. Impossible to operate and they don't seal, so I purchased these four nice caps when I bought these cans. Boy was I surprised with these nozzles. Quality rubber gasket makes a perfect seal to the can AND to the red cap plug. I don't think I'll bother with my extra caps but they fit perfect too and also use a rubber gasket. They are: CM Concepts Gas Can Solid Caps Coarse Thread-4 Pack.I did remove the red safety lock on the spout. Very easy to do with pliers, they pop right out and the spout spring works fine with one finger.

Great safety / emergency feature to carry in the car .We bought this for our 18 year old grandson & one for his best friend .

Like all safety features on todays gas cans, they create more safety issues than they solve.The spout on this gas can is cumbersome but you can bypass what may be classified as a safety feature to ensure a safer and easier to use spout when pouring gas into a lawn mower, chain saw or blower.

The white plastic strainer in the opening is hard or impossible to remove. I don't know. I gave up trying to remove it. The problem is, it can make the gas overflow if the fill rate is too fast. You gotta really feather the trigger which can take some time to get used to. And once it overflows, I hope you got a way to carry this back to your house strapped to the outside of the car because it's going to make the interior smell like gas for quite some time, even if you're careful and try not to get gas on any surface.The safety mechanism is not too hard to figure out, but I don't like that you have to depress bottom portion to unlock it before you can depress the nozzle. The spring is strong enough to keep the valve closed anyway. So instead of using both hands to steady the can, you have to use one hand on the nozzle part to unlock the safety. And of all the places on the can, that's where the residual gas is so the gas can get on your hand.Honestly, I think this is way overthought and overbuilt to the detriment of actual ease of use with absolutely no gain in the safety. If this thing annoys me again, it's going back. And it probably will annoy me.

Not much to say about this gas can. It works as expected and I haven't had any issues with the spout. It doesn't leak or vent fumes. Sized perfectly for a lawnmower and stores easily.Not a risky purchase. If I need another can, I will buy this one again!

I bought this gas can for my motorcycle. When it arrived, I was concerned that it would leak gas on my tank, as the spout was a bit short, but due to the clever design, that wasn't an issue at all. You just click the thing in, and then you can move the can over the tank and position it into the gas tank, and then you push it down against the lip of the tank, and only then does it start flowing. When you pull it up a little, it stops. Very clever.My only complaint is that being a bit more sophisticated, it took a little study of the label to figure it out. I would hesitate in loaning this to someone else or asking them to fill it for me, for fear they'd not read the label and try to muscle it and mess it up. But for just my use, it's great. Quite happy with it. It seems to seal well. I do smell gas when I pull it out from under my bike cover--maybe that's its venting action at work. Anyhow, it is a good gas can for a motorcycle with a 2 gallon or less tank. In actual fact, I was able to put about 2.1 gallons in it. Seems like it will last for some years.UPDATE: It's almost a year ago that I bought it, and the spout has stopped working properly. It was designed to let me tip it over without anything coming out until it is firmly in place over the gas tank. But that feature has failed FULLY and it's made of plastic so I doubt I'll be able to repair it. The spout base also leaks now WHICH ARE NOW PRETTY SEVERE. It should not have failed like this as I didn't abuse it at all. A pity. It worked great up till now. SIX MONTHS LATER--IT'S UNUSABLE. I ASKED THE COMPANY FOR A REPLACEMENT SPOUT, AND THEY SAID THEY'D SEND IT, BUT THEN WENT OUT OF COMMUNICATION.
