Small Buddy Pouch

I bought this Running Buddy pouch from Amazon in Oct 2014. I am active and my favorite pants ever, my yoga pants, do not have pockets. I am always listening to something, be it an audio book or music, so I need my phone with me at all times. I am always having to carry it in my hand which is a huge hassle... have you ever tried walking a rambunctious dog while carrying a phone? Chances are the phone will be flung out of your hands. I tried arm bands and they do not work. They slide down my arm before I take my first step (really, have these ever worked for anybody?). I considered waist packs but they look so bulky and nerdy and I don't think my android would fit comfortably. I finally saw the Running Buddy online and decided to give it a try. And I LOVE it. Is it perfect? Is anything ever? But if you're going to wear your phone, you're going to have to compromise, and the Running Buddy is comfortable, snug, discreet and stays put.Well my teenager is a runner and started borrowing my Running Buddy, so often that when I went to put it on I had to hunt for wherever he left it last. As I was out shopping during Christmas I saw a kiosk that sold the Pocket Plus. It is similar to the Running Buddy but it is vertical. For a couple weeks before Christmas I still had to put up with my son borrowing my Running Buddy but finally the day came when he had his own phone holder - yay! But the first time he wore it out he came running back in a minute later, angry, and said it was no good. Apparently it bounced against his body as he ran. So I traded my Running Buddy for his Pocket Plus. I don't run so much so how bad could it be just wearing it around the house and neighborhood and in the gym?OK, so he's right. It's no good. It hangs long so it bounces against the body when you move. I tried it for a day or two and finally decided to buy myself another Running Buddy. So I am buying another one, and how happy am I to see it is now available to fit the iPhone 6. When it arrives he’ll get the new one and I’ll reclaim my Running Buddy!

Secure, Comfortable, and Actually Stays Put!I’ve tried a lot of running belts and fanny packs, but this Running Buddy Belt Bag (XXL) is by far the best one yet. It’s roomy enough to hold my phone, keys, cash, and cards, and still stays slim and low-profile while I run.The no-bounce, chafe-free design really lives up to the promise — even during longer runs and workouts, it stays securely in place without sliding, bouncing, or irritating my skin. The magnetic closure is surprisingly strong, and the water-resistant material keeps my phone safe from sweat or light rain.I also appreciate that it doesn’t feel bulky at all. The 7 x 4 inch size is perfect for larger phones (mine fits with a case), and there’s still space for other small items. Whether I’m running, biking, hiking, or just walking the dog, it’s become an everyday essential.Pros:✔️ Truly bounce-free and comfortable✔️ Fits large phones and essentials✔️ Strong magnetic closure✔️ Lightweight and water-resistant✔️ Great for both men and womenCons:❌ Not ideal for holding water bottles❌ No headphone port (but most people use wireless anyway)If you’re looking for a high-quality running belt that actually stays in place and holds what you need without the bulk, I highly recommend this one. Worth every penny!

I found this product looking for a fanny pack or something to use on my long walks. I run as well, but I never thought I'd find anything comfortable for running. I always hated arm bands and flip belts are annoying to put on. I also once tried a Nathan hydration belt with the two tiny water bottles... hated it. So much. I made it half a mile before I circled back to put it in my car. So yeah, I'm a little picky. I had just accepted that I will always have to leave my phone at home. So anyway I got the XXL Running Buddy and thought hey I'll wear it for walks or frisbee golf or whatever, and I'll try it for a run even though it probs won't work for me.First of all, it fits my iPhone 11 (with a popsocket) with plenty of room to spare for keys, cards, granola bar, etc. The closure feels secure. The magnets are super strong and it does not slide around on your waistband at all. It is literally perfect for a walk. I also gave it a try while running and I am so pleasantly surprised. It does sort of weigh your pants down a little bit, but I think it's very tolerable (and again, I am super picky about running gear). Plus I've solved the issue by just wearing my tighter shorts with it. When I wear my tighter shorts it doesn't bounce/drag my shorts down literally at all. I'm very glad I found this product.

I am not a runner. I got this for work. I have the largest size and I am able to carry my large phone (a Note 9 in a big credit card holder case). I have my ID and some more cards. I like the other inside pocket to put a couple feminine hygiene products in. I am able to collect and carry various business cards and snippets I write in there as well. Its also very easy to access my phone and take it in/out as I need it throughput the day.I am on my 3rd Buddy Pouch. Each pouch I had lasted about 2 years. The magnets are very strong and eventually poke through the fabric. Eventually I get some wear and tear where my phone rubs the fabric as well. But I feel like this is all normal wear and tear and 2 years is a great life for this product. I use it every single day for 12+ hours. I love it.I also love that its not bulky. Im able to wear it without feeling like my stomach is bulging out. It also does not hinder my movement at all. I get the solid black one and it even blends into my work pants so it doesn't even look like I'm carrying anything. The reason I did not give it 5 stars has to do with the magnets. They are quite strong and they often cause the S-pen to disconnect from my phone even though the pen is still physically in the phone. The magnets interfere and my phone can't find its pen... so if i go to write a note on my phone at a time when the phone is disconnected it simply won't work. This has caused me some issues because sometimes I need to write things down quickly (carrying pen/paper is just not practical in what I do). The magnets also cause Google Pay to pop up on my phone even though its still in the pouch. Ill just be walking along and I can hear it swipe open. Im not sure how this could be fixed, though. I cant say I'd change the magnets. Theyre wonderful and keep the pouch exactly in place.

If this is the one with more magnets in it other than one it is great. I’ve had one for ten years and was worried I wouldn’t be able to replace it. My old one lost a magnet so I needed to replace it. Thank you for keeping this and also for making a choice of a little bit longer which makes my phone fit much easier than the old one.

If my dog wasn't already my favorite Running Buddy, the Buddy Pouch would definitely hold that spot. I never run without my driver's license, iPhone and key fob, and the Buddy Pouch sure beats carrying them in the hand that's not holding the leash or hoping they don't bounce out of my shorts pocket (on the one pair of running shorts that even has pockets).I researched other alternatives, like belts and other pouches, but the description of the Buddy Pouch really made it sound like the best choice for my needs. After my first run with it I knew I had made the right choice. It holds my iPhone 6 securely, has a separate inner pouch so I don't have to worry about accidentally ejecting my ID if I remove my phone on the greenway, and the thing is so darn lightweight I forget that I'm even wearing it. Plus, there's still room for a pack of GU, Sport Beans, energy bar, or similar items.I wear mine in the 1:00 o'clock position on my waistband, where the low-profile pouch rides flat and securely, providing easy access to my phone if I need it. The material is soft, non-chafing and water-resistant. I wouldn't hesitate to trust it to keep my stuff dry in a downpour or on the hottest, sweatiest of runs. Although I can't attest to its long-term durability after only a few runs with the Buddy Pouch, I can tell from the quality of the materials and the attention to detail that went into its rugged construction that this is an accessory that will probably outlast my knees. If you're on the fence about whether to go for a running belt or the Buddy Pouch, I suggest coming down on the side of the pouch. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with it. BTW, Running Buddy is a small company that truly appreciates its customers. Don't be surprised if you receive a personal thanks from the owner after you place your order. That's customer relationship management done right!

My first running pouch. I've used an arm band for my IPhone 4S for over a year and it worked great but it doesn't hold much other than my phone/I.D. and the Velcro part was beginning to come unattached much easier. I decided to try the "Buddy Pouch". I am a distance runner who like most others are training their bodies toward a goal, mine happens to be a marathon next month. I went with the buddy pouch after seeing a family member use it but my biggest concern was "would it bounce"? I received the pouch quickly and first thing I noticed was its strong magnetic clips. This thing holds nice and tight inside your running shorts. You don't need to worry about it slipping out. Next were the two pockets inside. It fits my iPhone just fine and has room for a key or key fob. You just don't want to put anything too bulky in here as you may not be able to Velcro it closed all the way. Maybe magnets to secure the cover would be a good idea if they don't interfere with the magnets on the back. But anyways I also keep a small Sabre pepper spray inside as I live in a rural area and have spotted ultimate animals to include dogs and a bear!Run#1While running with the pouch centered on my back I immediately noticed BOUNCE within 20 feet of a jog.(this is with iPhone 4S and small pepper spray bottle) I never tighten my draw strings because the elastic on my shorts hold tight to my waist just fine. So I stopped, running APP still timing me which I didnt want to fuss stopping it and turning it back on, I already started my run and was trying to get my head in the game for at least 1hr 1/2 ahead of me! I quickly tightens up the drawstring around my waste to provide more of a snug fit, this made it feel better, a little let noticeable.Run#2I now drive to a park, position the Buddy Pouch on my rear centered back and begin running. This is a different mesh pair of shorts again with an elastic waist. The pouch is bouncing, a lot. This time I'm carrying my phone and a single Key Fob. I pull the front of my shorts out to check for the drawstring and it's been pulled into the shorts so I can't pull it out to make a knot! I then decided to put the pouch on the front of my waist positioned in the center like the pictures state that come with the product. I noticed much less bounce than in the back. I was also able to easily take my phone in and out of the pouch now while on the run. Front placement worked much better for me.It's my first running pouch. I haven't tried a waist pouch yet so I can't compare.Pro's: Magnetic clips are strong that attach to shorts2 pockets good enough to fit about 3 gel packs in one a phone in the other plus a car key.Sturdy/durable constructionCon's: Bounces when shorts aren't tied tight to your bodyI would recommend this for the daily runner. Like I said you can try it on your back but I prefer wearing it on the front of my body for the accessibility and minimal bounce on my waist.

I used the Buddy Pouch for the first time yesterday for the Lost Dutchman event in Apache Junction, AZ. It's perfect for a race! I was able to carry my iPhone in the main section, plus my [fat] car key, credit card, ID, cash, and a gel (it would actually fit several gels, if they're small packets) in the other section. I chose to wear it in the small of my back, and ran the headphone cord through my shirt, so the cord never got in my way (and never got yanked by my flailing arms, hahaa). The little zipper is perfect - you can snug it right up against the cord. There was a very tiny bit of "butt bounce," due to where I chose to wear it (in the back, and on a low-rise waistband) but after a few minutes I didn't even notice it. I never felt like it was going to open or fall off or even budge, and the magnets held tight even though I wore it over/around two garments - tights and a skirt (yes, low 50s is cold in AZ!). On a regular, non-event run or a hike, I'd probably wear it in front off to the side, so that my phone is handy for pics, but for an event, out of sight was out of mind! I loved the feeling of running totally free of any encumbrance. Oh, and as a self-proclaimed "delicate flower," I also loved that the section that goes against your skin is completely soft, with nothing that will chafe, scratch or annoy you. "Is it perfect?" -- it's perfect enough, and it's definitely perfect for me.

THE QUALITY OF THIS POUCH IS EXCELLENT & MY IPHONE 8, WITH IT'S CASE ON (THE CASE IS A FLIP OVER LEATHER ONE WHICH COVERS BOTH SIDES OF THE PHONE - SO IT IS CERTAINLY NOT SLIM!) EASILY FITS INSIDE IT. THE POUCH IS EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE TO WEAR & FEELS COMPLETELY 100% SECURE. THERE ARE 2 COMPARTMENTS INSIDE THE POUCH, ONE OF WHICH IS FASTENED WITH A VELCRO TAB. THERE IS A 2" ZIP ON ONE OF THE SIDE SEAMS THRO' TO POP A HEADPHONE LEAD THROUGH TO YOUR PHONE IF YOU HAVEN'T GOT BLUE TOOTH ENABLED. THE POUCH ALSO CAME WITH 2 FREE "BUDDY BLOCKER" CREDIT CARD HOLDERS WHICH PROTECT YOUR CARDS AGAINST UNAUTHORISED SCANS! MY ORDER ARRIVED THE NEXT DAY & I WOULD UNRESERVEDLY RECOMMEND BOTH THE PRODUCT & THE SELLER "GIZMO GADGETS".

Purchased as a gift for a friend, and ended up buying one for myself.
