Beautiful nosies
I love how it makes almost any riff sound good no matter how it would sound without it. You can make many noises that sound like many of your favorite metal songs. I would highly recommend if you are looking to play more heacier genres of metal (deathcore, metalcore, etc)

Excellent pedal, a classic and a must in your pedal board ... easy to get classic metal tones
An absolutely essential pedal if you like to play metal. This pedal has been named in so many 'lists' as one of the most essential pedals of all time. It is very easy to get classic metal sounds Metallica style, Anthrax, Megadeth, etc. Classic metal tones at your fingertips for less than hundred bucks. What else could you ask for? This pedal has great sustain also, which I was looking for. I use it in combination with a delay and a chorus pedal. It improves the tone from good to great, trust me. Anyway, if you are looking at this item online, it means you want it. Just get it. You have to have it! You will also see your practice improve, because this gives you a tone that motivates you to go back to your practice room more often.I have other pedals in my pedal board, and this is one of my favorite. If I lost it, I would buy it right away. I like it better than the BOSS DS-1, for example ... BTW ... you play this on a clean amp, although I have a good Marshall with two channels, I play my amp clean and use pedals to color my tone.

Like a hammer in your toolbox. It's a must have.
The Boss MT2 is a great pedal. Not the best distortion or metal pedal out there either. But in my opinion if you play Metal or anything like it then you're going to want to give this monster of a pedal a go ahead and never look back. Of course, like I said there are bespoke "stompbox" or pedal makers from all the States and from across the seas from Europe to Japan (Boss). But I think that every artist who's building a pedal board or collection should have this incredible, groundbreaking pedal in their arsenal. I own many expensive pedals and I own pedals I paid $30 bucks for but they give me the sound I want and that's all that matters. Yeah as a pedal freak I totally want you to go out and Google or go on Instagram and find some custom pedal makers but I also completely recommend you buy the Boss MT2 and always have a classic that will always perform, give you sound you want and never fail , ever. Definitely but Boss products. They're one of the best in their respective industry. They are also absolute legends for creating the Boss MT2 and many other must have, never fail Boss pedals that changed the scope of certain musics.

One of the better distortion pedals
First of all I want to say I love a tube amp distortion. Overdriven tubes are just how its meant to be. I run a Randall G3 hybrid amp and it destroys any solid state I've used or heard. For recording I use a Peavey 5150 and its so sweet. Tubes are how guitar was meant to be heard.Recently I started playing with a band that required a dirty tone that I felt like could only be achieved through a pedal. There is absolutely nothing wrong with using distortion pedals, I used the DOD death metal for years when I first started playing. However, there is a downside. Go cheap and you get a piece of crap that makes your rig sound like an old AM radio, if you want something that sounds pro quality your going to shell out at least $250. Quality dist. pedals are not budget friendly.I chose the MT-2 because I know Boss makes a quality product and it was the pedal the other guitarist was using. It gives a variety of sounds. It can be set up for an overdriven light distortion sound or full blown high gain metal tones. The controls make it very tweakable and I have gotten a load of very nice sounds out of it. Read the included book, look up some MP3s over videos online and check out other guitarists' settings. It will help you tame this pedal into what you want. Perfect pedal for those not wanting to spend a whole lot. There are also mods you can buy and install in the pedal or buy preinstalled from certain dealers that open it up to even more shaping and make it more useful.I've seen a lot of complaints about the pedal sounding like nothing but fuzz. I must say learn how to shape sound, spend time dialing it in to your rig. Within 10 minutes I was pleased with the MT-2. I used it on my overdrive channel to push it harder and got a really thick, heavy distortion with a good response.I say the MT-2 is worth an investment if you're looking for a big distortion sound from a little pedal. Surely something guitarists should consider adding to their board.

So many sound options
Yeah... the smallness of the dials is a challenge at times, especially when practicing in a dimly lit environment, but the versatility and amount of tones/sounds that one can do with this pedal is amazing!

Crunchy!!
It's pretty much all you need in one pedal. I can find any amount of distortion I want. 70' sounds to today! No need to look for another.

Klassiker
