These bags are made from a fine polyester mesh. They are not biodegradable but they are 100% recyclable. Earthwise Bags is located in Los Angeles. The bags are produced in China.

What are the dimensions of each individual bag?

I am not sure of the volume that they hold in exact dimensions, but I can fit 8 large granny smith apples and still pull the draw string. These are fantastic! Well worth the money.

Does the drawstring closure have a "button" on it which keeps it closed?

no, the drawstring keeps it closed, I have not had an issues with that
