Flex Cup

I'm not a picky person, and I like to try all different kinds of menstrual products to find what works best for me and my lifestyle. I use tampons through the day, menstrual cups for my long 12hr shifts, and pads or menstrual cups for sleep. I have gravitated towards menstrual cups because of the environmental impact of pad/tampon waste. The other benefits are also that you don't have to spend money every month when you get your periods (just reuse these for every period, no need to buy more. And I have a little sterilizer at home to keep it nice and clean). They also have a MUCH longer wear time, so it is great for sleeping comfortably or, as I mentioned, my long 12 hour shifts with barely any time for breaks.The first time I tried a menstrual cup, it was a different brand and it was absolutely horrendous!! Definitely a learning curve, but also since it suctions onto your cervix, It was painful/miserable to remove! I almost thought I was going to have to get it removed at my OBGYN lol. But I didn't give up, and I bought the Flex cup. What is so great about it is that it has a suction release tab on it, so I have NEVER had any issue taking this out. It is easy to insert and remove, has a little loop to grab onto making it even easier to pull out, fits perfectly and feels like I am wearing nothing.I DID have some leaks which was a huge disappointment BUT that was before I got a bigger size (when I bought this, I had never had any kids and was in my mid 20s so I thought the smaller one would suit me). I swallowed my pride and got a bigger one, it's still easy to place, and it has never leaked for me. Lasts me the full 12 hours without any mess and feels like I'm wearing nothing at all. Yes, you may get some blood on your fingers with insertion and removal, but not in your underwear and that is a miniscule price to pay for the countless benefits of a menstrual cup.Overall, I highly recommend this menstrual cup and if you DO have leaks or if you hear of anyone that has had issues with these leaking, it likely isn't the product but the person. They just need a bigger size (speaking from experience).Hope this helps!

I have always been grossed out by the idea of a period cup. However, I have never worn or even considered Tampons. I have always worn pads but have recently developed an irritation towards them that causes me to break out in welts. I took the dive and ordered this cup. I was nervous the first time because I am inexperienced with Tampons and I am also a virgin. The first time was a total pain. It was very uncomfortable. It was very difficult to maintain the hold (it kept popping to early). I was very frustrated. After reading reviews though that it’s a learning curve I kept trying. I got it in and was relieved but I could still feel it. I know you’re not suppose to feel it so I wasn’t sure if I was feeling it because I didn’t do it right or if it was because I am not use to having something there. I watched some demonstrations and I realized that in most of them the pull string is just inside the vaginal canal. (I am assuming this depends on your cervix placement. Mine is high and tilted towards my tail bone) This made me realize the issue was that I did not have it pushed far enough back so I pushed it until the pull tab was just aligned with the opening and I didn’t feel it at all anymore. No irritation. No pain. I still struggle with getting it in, however, it got easier every time. Taking it out is so easy !! The reason I chose the flex cup was for the pull tab that breaks the suction. There is no way I would be able to break the suction myself. I was very nervous about it being messy. I couldn’t grasp how it doesn’t spill when you pull it out so I was worried. There is literally no mess when pulling it out. I do a quick pull and it comes out perfectly without getting on my hands or spilling. The other thing I noticed is that on the last day of my period I always randomly “spot”. However, when I used the cup on that last day I took it out in the morning and it had very little blood so I knew it was ending. I decided not to put it back in but I wore a pad because I expected spotting. However, I did not spot at all. I am wondering if it’s because it sits below the cervix and is able to collect what id normally spot without having to travel down the canal. I’m not sure but it’s awesome. I am very pleased and will never be without a cup again. I highly recommend it. If you’re unsure give it a shot and if you don’t pick it up right away keep trying. It’s worth it and if I can do it I know anyone can!
