Quickbooks Online for Dummies Book
The book was just ok, I was looking to find out more of things I did not already know. This is not the book for you if that is what you need. I suggest something more detailed. This is just a basic starting guide, no bad review just a suggestion.

This book is well written and probably great for CPAs
This book is well written: it flows and is an easy read. The reason for only 3 stars is no fault of the writer but of the software and print quality. I started using QuickBooks Online some months ago and was enormously frustrated by it so advance ordered this book. I thought it was my learning curve but the books shows that QBO cannot do what I thought would be its basic strengths as on online system. In fact, it cannot do anything but very basic accounting and payroll. So, about a third of this slim version is devoted to the average QBO user. At least a third to CPAs who use this for their clients. The last third is about the Chrome browser. So, with two thirds of the book useless to me, I am returning the book and looking for new accounting software. One other problem is that the publishers scrimped on ink so the diagrams and screen shots are difficult to see any detail; kind of grey and blurry.

Not for the Sole Proprietor forced to used QBO per CPA Advice
This book does contain a lot of QBO how-to's, and is probably very good and effective if your goal is to be a full-time QBO person (or if your background is accounting, bookkeeping, etc.). This is not for the small business person who is forced to use QBO, per CPA involvement, and just has some basic routine things to do. This book does have a lot of detail step-by-step things in it, however, barely mentions what the sole proprietor is supposed to do with a lot of banking transactions (checking & credit) in QBO for the CPA to do their thing. You are much better off paying a "Knowledgable" bookkeeper/accountant/cpa for a few hours on what they need you to do.

This book is a waste of money
This book is a waste of money! If it is "for dummies" then a section on fixing mistakes or troubleshooting would be helpful. The introduction states the author does not assume the reader is familiar with quickbooks so why would the author assume a user would make perfect entries all of the time. I bought this book because I am new to quickbooks online. I generally like having things in print so I can flip between pages and skim chapters when I am looking for a particular piece of information. This book however is worthless. I would NEVER recommend it to anyone!

I use it as a reference the odd time, it was bought for me by wife as a present, but if you have the basic understanding of bookkeeping, and only do a limited amount then it's great. I think if you want to pursue a occupation in bookkeeping then a proper course would be far more beneficial, especially one that is classroom based rather that online. Again if it's as a quick reference not bad ? But most questions can be answered online using QuickBooks or Google.
