This is a great product. It is actually a product marketed by the Chinese company "Youpro" and sold by various vendors . It works exactly as described. As of this review it is the only wireless remote intervelometer for the Sony A7 series. I have not tested the range of signal transmission but have no doubt that it will work as specified or close to it.I've seen a couple of reviews on line that are negative, that the receiver stopped working after one use. I have two comments about that: make sure the power button (which really only turns the light on) is not being pushed by something in your camera bag, and second never trust manufacturer-supplied batteries. Always go get new batteries (Lith-i CR2) Amazon sells in bulk) or you can spend $15 EACH at Radio Shack (no wonder they're going out of business).Finally, as one who prefers manufacturer-designed products I find the price of the Youpro brand to compelling. Even if it were to fail after a few months (which it won't) just consider that you could buy maybe ten of these for the price of one manufacturer-made version.

Worked great while I had it. Got about 50 feet of range out of it. Can be a bit tricky to figure out the controls. Very comfortable remote though, pocket friendly =)

I have been using it on my Sony Alpha 7r for a month. Works perfectly. The instructions leave a lot to be desired. It took some experimenting and patience, but I finally figured out the settings. Have not had any problem with the batteries and have left them in both pieces for the entire time. I would give it a 5 star rating if the instructions were better written.

The wait time was a bit long but I was willing to wait for a product that delivered. The remote works great and was worth waiting for!

Perfect for my photo shoots. Great to be able to trigger the shutter in the studio without reaching for the camera. Model/client are much more relaxed not anticipating the shutter

I have been using intervalometers for half of a decade now and this is one that I won't be purchasing again for a number of reasons..Cons:1) Range, or the lack of - I've done time lapses with my camera 10 feet away and it will intermittently break communication during a long/programmed exposure. I'll try a 5-minute exposure and it'll be broken into a 60-seconds, 1-second, pure black frame, 3 minutes, etc, etc. I've tried different channels with no resolution to the problem so I don't see this as a remote that can be trusted with the wireless function. Wired is fine though, assuming you can see past the flaws listed below, but I've wasted way too much time in the dark re-shooting something because this broke communication.2) Battery choice - The receiver takes an expensive battery that doesn't last long at all. In fact, it seems to just drain the battery even when it's turned off. A much better choice would have been AAA with a slightly larger receiver as those batteries are cheap and used in just about everything else that goes into my camera bag (other remotes, headlamps, etc). I don't want to carry a special little battery around just for this and you WILL need spares. Probably lots of them.3) Low quality S2 cable - I had the end of a cable snap off for the first time in my life. Replacement S2 cables are available on Amazon and I've found them to be much higher quality.4) Horrible instructions - Thankfully I've used similar remotes for a long time so I was able to figure it out but I still don't understand why there is a second timer (N2) that seems to duplicate my programmed exposures when I only want one. It's a pain.5) On/Off buttons galore. My Satechi intervalometer doesn't have an off switch and I can't remember the last time that I changed the batteries. This Neewer kills batteries at will for some reason.Pros:1) It looks nice and is compact. That's about it.Other options:Buy the higher priced Satechi WTR-A (or any of the other models with manufacturer-specific cables) and a snag a few Sony S2 cables on here. It's larger, more expensive, has less options, and doesn't look as pretty but I've found that intervalometer to be rock-solid and trustworthy even after years. Heck, I even opened up the receiver to re-solder/repair input jack (from the Neewer cable that snapped) just so I can use it again over this Neewer...and I'm lazy.

I can tell a few were probably compensated in someway to write a great review. I'll be honest with you:At $36 don't expect high quality, but expect better than what you get with this remote. It's ultra lightweight, all plastic, the instructions haven't been translated into English and they crap to understand, and it doesn't work wirelessly with the d800. Sure I can use it with the cord, but it's maybe a foot long.I'm still being generous leaving it with three stars because if it did work wirelessly, I'm sure it would be ok, but I've bought more durable remotes for less in the past.I'm totally for buying third party when it's decent quality. I have a Neewer strobe light which is of great quality and durability, so I know the company is capable of producing decent products. This one is just not one of them, IMO. I've only spent tens of thousands of dollars on photography equipment so who am I to judge? :)

Da ich schon gute Erfahrungen mit den Neewer Speedlights gemacht habe gab es nicht viel zu zögern als ich einen Fernauslöser für meine beiden Sony Kamera benötigte. Da die Beschreibung hier bei Amazon recht dürftig ist ein klares Go! Für die Sony A7ii und die Sony RX100M3An beiden Kameras läuft der Auslöser ohne Probleme und mit einer Entfernung die weiter dem ist als ich von meiner Kamera weg gehen wollte.Warum nutzt man aber nun dieses Gerät anstatt die doch ganz gute Handyapp? Erstens drücke ich den Selbstauslöser auch gerne mal anderen Menschen in die Hand um ein paar lustige Selfies zu machen und zweitens säuft die WLAN Verbindung doch arg an den eh schon viel zu kleinen Akkus beider Kameramodelle. Beide Argumente sind mir die ~30Euro für das Teil hier mehr als wert.Die Verarbeitung des Senders und des Empfängers sind ok, haut einen nicht um ist aber auch kein Billigschrott. Batterien liegen bei und das Kabel das Empfänger mit Klinke und Micro USB an die Kamera bindet sitzt sauber und ordentlich.Ich kann den Kauf für meine beiden Kameramodelle uneingeschränkt empfehlen.
