Best book ever!
Reading Rainbow book that does not disappoint. The story is so sweet and the artwork brings it to life. My 4 year old grandson and his 6 year sister really enjoy it. She can easily read it. It brings smiles , laughter and requests to read it again every time.

Good read
Great book! My daughter and I ordered it after seeing it featured in an old episode of Reading Rainbow. Would recommend

Love the book. Great story and illustrations. I use this book to teach the math problem solving strategy "Draw a Picture." My students arrange three hats in as many different ways as possible. The only thing was there was a stamp on the inside front cover (kind of like a library stamp that someone had whited out.) Other than that the book was new.

A Plea for Love and Tolerance
This delightful tale is not primarily a math book. It is a plea for toleration and sympathetic understanding of people who appear different and who offend our sense of propriety. While my child was growing up, we watched Reading Rainbow together. And almost every book on the show was worth buying and treasuring. This story needs to be read and savored for its own sake and for (the late) Arnold Lobel's whimsical art work.

A wonderful Math lesson!
I am a teacher and used this book for a math lesson on probability- what are the chances that...pretty cool! The students brought a hat from home and we acted the story out, plus made some revisions to it to find the odds!

Simple funny story about silly hats and finding love
Silly hats and names for hats and pictures of hats. Kids will laugh. Nice story about a man yearning for love. Great story to read to little boys to affirm being sensitive and wanting love in your life is okay.
