Does this have insert to keep grounds separate or is this intended for coffee grounds to go directly into the water?

This does not include a percolator or filter of any kind. What I have done is, I bring the water to a boil and let it boil for about 2 minutes, then remove the pot from direct heat to let the water settle a little bit. Then, add the coffee grounds and let it roast for about 5-7 minutes. Once it’s finished, I remove the pot from the heat and I pour just a bit of cold water down the spout and directly in the center of the coffee. Not much, but less than 1/2 cup should do That settles the grounds to the bottom. Hope this helps!

Is this coffee pot a percolator with a strainer basket etc?

No. It would be just for old fashioned boiled coffee. It‘s just the pot and the lid.

Is this product lead-free?

It’s likely not lead or cadmium free - enamel hardly is unless they go to the trouble of making it so.

Beautiful enamel pot

This pot is beautiful and great price. Keep in mind that it is not a percolator (doesn’t brew coffee inside). The size is about 8 inches in height and 5 inches in diameter in the base. Nice old fashion looking. I bought it because of sentimental value but can be used for coffee as well. If buying it, please consider the measurements. I have seen people giving bad reviews to this and other products because of the size but the item description clearly has the measurements. Not fair to do that. Nice beautiful color as well.
