I love his poetry.. but I was looking more for quick amazing thought provoking quotes so this book wasn't for me. It's a great book for those who love to and have time to sit and do a lot of reading. Full / complete poems and writings so it's definitely worth the money if that's what you're looking for. I chose to find a different book with just quick simple quotes of some of his famous poetry.

Walt Whitman's Complete Poems arrived on time and the delivery was smooth and satisfactory. This edition of Whitman's lyrical work is nicely put up and seems to be of a good quality. For enthusiasts of his work, it's the go-to book.

Por el precio está más que bien. Pensé que faltarían poemas o que el índice sería deficiente, pero están todos losnpoemasy hay tres índices: uno del título de cada libro, otro de cada poema con el titulo correspondiente y otro del primer verso de cada poema. Más que recomendable.

Bought as a gift but I appreciate Whitman as a poet.

Whitman keeps rambling on and on about this and that and then some more. Soon it goes totally blah blah for me. That does not mean it did not have its moments. Some of the poems are absolute gems and so are some lines in some absolutely dull poems. But that is strictly my personal point of view. Maybe the work has to be looked at from a historical perspective. Maybe it needs a certain age and mindset to appreciate it. Or maybe I am just not much into the Whitmanian style. He happens to be a towering figure in American literature and I suppose his poetry may appeal immensely to many people. Personally, I would rather go with Emily Dickinson or Robert Frost any day. I have no problem with the edition, the binding, the paper and the print quality of the book. Hence an extra star.
