Dive Deeper into the Culture
I got this book because I’m translating a script from English into Spanish and I want the dialogue to flow authentically. This is a great book to take the reader into the full culture of expression. As language is the personal signature of each culture, Mexislang sheds a brilliant light on Mexican communication. It’s fun to read and gave me a great education. Thanks, Raúl Jiménez. Your book is a gift of speech.

A Indispensable Reference for Mexican Slang
Raul's book has become an essential part of my arsenal for enhancing my knowledge of the Spanish of Mexico. As someone who frequently travels to Mexico, I routinely refer back to the book to reinforce my understanding of specific slang expressions, as well as to continue learning new words and phrases. As a result of the book, I've been able to selectively incorporate specific words/phrases into my speech when speaking with native speakers. Moreover, the book has been a great tool to help me better understand specific series/movies filmed in Mexico (such as Netflix's Club de Cuervos). I wholeheartedly recommend this book to those serious about improving their Spanish and bringing it to a new level.

Good to know info
I dislike that the bad word info comes first. If I had seen that I might not have bought the book.

Are you actually LEARNING Spanish?
If so, and you are going to spend any time in Mexico, or even if you are going to watch Netflix shows from Mexico, you better get this book. Mexican daily conversations are filled with slang and even if you've learned a lot of Spanish you may find the conversation incomprehensible without learning what people in Mexico REALLY say when they talk to each other. This is an outstanding book written by a native Mexican, with plenty of examples. The example are important because slang terms are often used, as in English, in many different ways and with different meanings for the same words or phrases. This book is highly recommended.

I'm a Spanish learner and learned a lot. Thank you.
I'm really glad there's a book like this. I'm learning Spanish with a focus on Mexican Spanish, and WOW, there is a lot of slang. When I watched my first Mexican show (Club de Cuervos) I could barely understand what they were saying because there was so much slang. So this book really helped clear some things up for me. Their slang is very nuanced (and some really explicit!) Great book.

Oops, what did he say
The book gives a phrase translation, but doesn’t reverse it

Good
Solid explanations. 5-star resource. Mexican dialect is vast, but this is a good start.

Informative and entertaining
Excellent compilation of Mexican slang. Not leaning towards describing offensive words, but showcasing the extended usage that that Mexicans have given to the the normal Spanish lexicon. Funny, witty, and entertaining urban dictionary of the Spanish spoken nowadays in Mexico.

Excelente
Buen análisis de las palabras y expresiones usadas en el México moderno. Faltan algunas expresiones más locales, pero fuera eso muy bueno.

Good book
Gave it as a Christmas present to a friend and she loved it! But I am pretty sure there is some stuff that she won’t be interested in using…lol.I think that it is a good book to introduce non Spanish speakers to slang, but I would have left only basic stuff and had more elaborated slang for a second book.
