Could have been a contender, but falls short
I'm sadly disappointed in this book since their web tutorials are pretty great. If I had to pick one word to describe this book, I'd say "lazy." The book falls short of providing thorough explanations of concepts. They walk you through examples with cursory details. And since when is a book published without an index? Yes, that's right. This book has no index, so good luck if there's something you want to find quickly.A little more effort would have bumped this book up to a 5.

It's okay but could be quite a bit better...
I'm not super impressed. Many typos, no index and rather lazy.

Fantastic Buy
Great book. I really appreciate the fact that it describes why (without being too verbose), as well as some really nicely thought out coding tutorials. This is a great resource

Big fall for Ray Wenderlich standards, shame on authors
Quite honestly... I respect the hard work authors put into the book, but as a customer who payed higher than average money for a book, I'm hugely disappointed by the book. It's simply not worth the money, and I can only say that the authors are creepy and Ray's quality control fall short and they rush to release products that does not meet expectation.I totally agree with the other readers, there are a lot of concepts in the book that are simply not explained or just one sentience. Many times even that one sentience assume you already know other concepts like Expression. I'm so confused simply cannot follow. I had to go back to Apple document to learn many of the concepts myself. We all should read Apple documents but as I payed $54 at lease the authors could do more work explaining some of the concepts critical to Core Data.Another side note why Ray's works sucks recently is they begin charging for some of the updates. Like Swift and WatchOS releases. Oh come on!! You promised free updates when we bought the book. Don't tell me 50% off coupon. You made the commitment to readers. Also iOS 9 by tutorials... is about 1/3-1/4 the length of previous ones. I was like holly cxxx. Don't know if I should stop supporting Ray Wenderlich or should I start selling all my Apple stocks.

Lazy and poor writing!
I bought the pdf version directly from the Ray Wenderlich site. I completely agree with the assessment that this book is lazily written. The only time I want something to be lazy is if it is a variable that I want instantiated only when it is called. Okay, that was pretty bad iOS humor, but I do feel the writers of this book did not do a good job. So many difficult concepts are just glossed over and not explained thoroughly. I would say that I felt lost almost half of the time. I really feel like I wasted $54 for this thing and now am extremely wary of buying any future Ray Wenderlich books. This was a really frustrating experience.
