LEZYNE Micro Floor Drive High Pressure & High Volume Bike Pumps

I bought this pump to use when I travel with my bike. When flying with a bike the tires must be deflated before the bike is loaded onto a commercial airplane according to the airline rules. The first trip I took with my bike I brought my regular floor pump so I wouldn't have to use my mini-pump to reinflate my tires at my destination. This pump is closer to my minipump than my floor pump but it is still easier than using my minipump. The thread-on chuck works great and having the built in pressure gauge is also great. The pressure gauge seems to be very accurate when I compared it to my pressure gauge. I ride a road bike with a 23mm front tire and a 25mm rear. I have found about 80 psi in each works well for me and this pump was easily able to inflate my tires to that pressure. Using my mini-pump it takes 150 strokes to get the tire to the correct pressure. I did not count the number of strokes it took to inflate the tires but it was at least slightly less than the mini-pump but more than a floor pump. As a travel pump it worked great. It is much lighter and smaller than a full sized pump making it much easier to pack. And the built in gauge makes it even better. It would certainly work great as a frame pump to carry on the road.

This pump is a great example of engineering done right. It is one of very few high-pressure mini pumps out there that can actually achieve the max pressure it's rated for with reasonable effort. The plunger rod is larger in diameter than most other mini pumps, rendering it more rigid and resistant to bending when bearing down on the handle with lots of force. The piston diameter is also smaller than most and the stroke length longer than most, making it easier to pump at high pressure while still moving fairly high volumes of air at lower pressures. The straight air chuck is a piece of knurled aluminium with an internal rubber O-ring that prevents air loss while threading onto your valve stem, and it is dual sided, fitting both Presta and Schrader valve stems. The air chuck is threaded and screws into the base of the pump for compact storage. There is also a minimalist plastic mounting bracket with a Velcro strap for secure storage on your bike. The pump comes with a plastic right-angle Dunlop valve air chuck attachment. It also comes with a steel sports ball inflator nozzle and a plastic pool float nozzle (the pump probably isn't the ideal tool for these larger volume, lower pressure inflatables).Here are the important measurements:Base: 2.5 cm x 5.9 cm (1.0 in x 2.3 in)Overall height: 30.7 cm (12.1 in)Piston diameter: 2.0 cm (0.8 in)Stroke length: 20.0 cm (7.9 in)Stroke volume: 62.8 cm^3 (3.8 in^3)Hose length: 60 cm (24 in)For the weight weenies out there, this pump weighs in at a scant 177 g (6.2 oz) bare, or 194 g (6.8 oz) with the included mounting bracket.

I got the pump without the gauge option since other people were saying it was unreliable and hard to read. This is a very light and very well made hand pump. I've used a cheap Bell portable pump before I got this one and there is really no comparison.Attachment: This pump very securely attaches to the valve stem on both Schrader and Presta valves. It actually threads onto both types and seals on the flat with a rubber o-ring. I have no issues with leakage while attached. The hose also makes it easier to get into place.Pumping: This pump really stands out from other portable pumps in that it has a short hose, allowing you hold the pump in more comfortable positions, and even place it on the ground like a floor pump for more force. It is also easier on the valve stem since you aren't forcing it side to side while working the pump.Pressure: As far as maximum pressure, it is very easy to get a tire up to about 50 psi, somewhat difficult to get up to 80 or 90 psi, and very difficult but possible to get up to or over 100 psi. The effective maximums is probably a bit over 100 psi, but I haven't tested it to carefully.Portability: The mount system is very typical for pumps and works well. I have it mounted on the side of my tandem frame on the same holes as a water bottle cage. This pump is surprisingly light for how nice it is and how well it works.Conclusion: This is probably the nicest portable pump out there. It is very light, durable and portable, and is capable of reaching much higher pressures than most pumps similar in size. The hose makes it more comfortable to use, easier to attach, and more gentle on the valve stems. This could probably serve as a full service pump as long as you don't need to go over about 50 psi, and could even work up to about 80 psi if you are patient and too cheap to get floor pump or compressor.

This pump is so good, my girlfriend bought one for herself after trying mine!Used it again yesterday while changing a flat tire on the go. It's compact and it inflates above 100 psi without too much effort.

I wanted a capable pump for bike packing. This model was the best one for me.

Ayer 5 de diciembre de 2021 la he recibido y la he probado. 👌Se ve y siente de excelente calidad. Es compacta y ligera. Ha llegado sin problemas a 110 psi. La probaré en otra bici que requiere 120 psi, que es por ello que la he comprado. Aunque parece complejo utilizarla por su pequeño tamaño, me fue muy sencillo inflar la llanta… vale la pena comprarla.

I've been using a Topeak dxg for years. Not the best I know but it did the job. This is light-years better. Super easy to get to pressure (90) without having to try to keep the bike steady as I'm pumping. If it lasts as long as the DXG, I'll be very happy. It's really light too, hardly any noticeable difference between this and the dxg
